The family moved to Manistee, MI, in 1981. Jason attended Manistee Area Public Schools and graduated from Manistee High School in 1993. Jason was awarded a Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership scholarship. He attended Alma College and the University of Alabama.Following college, Jason entered the United States Navy. Jason proudly served his country in the Navy for ten years.
